Extraction and Formulation of Perfume from Cymbopogon citratus (Lemongrass)

نویسندگان

چکیده

This work aimed to extract perfume from the leaves of Cymbopogon citratus using three extraction methods viz: distillation, solvent and expression or effleurage. About 150 g dried lemons grass were extracted ethanol as obtain essential oils required for formulation perfumes. The result hydrodistillation process showed that 1.23 oil per 130g dry lemongrass produce 0.95% at 78 °C, while effleurage method was 2.55 130 sample thereby producing 1.96% yield. gave 2.7 sample. gives about 2.08 % yield a temperature 78°C i.e. boiling point ethanol. yielded 2.08%, effleuragemethod respectively. In conclusion, highest because less exposure air heat, which is highly recommended most suitable oil.
